Manish Gurukula
Co-founder & CEO
As CEO of Alacriti, Manish is responsible for Alacriti's overall strategy, business development and company growth. Formerly, he managed the delivery of one of the industry's largest biller direct bill payment products for Alacriti's strategic customer, HSBC Bank. He also oversaw the development of several other payment solutions for HSBC within the cross-border funds transfer, international remittances and prepaid card domains.
Manish has also managed global development teams responsible for delivering next-generation money transfer and e-payment solutions for Western Union. He began his career as a software engineer developing and implementing technology solutions for clients such as Depository Trust Company and NYNEX. He possesses strong technical and business domain expertise in the areas of online bill payments, prepaid cards, cross-border funds transfer, and international remittances.
Manish holds an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chennai, India.
Wayne Brown
Director, Business Development
Wayne Brown has over twenty five years of experience in financial services. His previous role at Citigroup was the Vice President North America Receivables Product Manager, where he was responsible for a suite of electronic payment products, namely, B2B (EIPP) B2C (Biller Direct) and EDI. Previous roles consisted of product and account management responsibilities at Metavante Corporation, Deutsche Bank and MasterCard Worldwide. While at MasterCard he spearheaded a series of electronic product enhancements in the RPPS (Remittance Payment Presentment Services) group that resulted in increasing payment volumes by 25% in one year. These enhancements contributed to the RPPS product providing premier service as a leading consumer home banking electronic payment gateway.
For the last twelve years Wayne has been an active participant in NACHA's Council Electronic Billing and Payments (CEBP) Council and was one of the author's of the Walk-In Payment Best Practices Guide published by NACHA and released in February 2007. Wayne holds a B.B.A in Finance from Baruch College and has completed his Master's of Science coursework in Management and Strategic Planning at Manhattanville College.
Shambaiah Chepuri
Co-founder & Vice President, Engineering
Shambaiah is responsible for managing Alacriti's engineering team in India. He oversees technical architecture, execution and delivery of technology solutions for Alacriti's customers. Shambaiah possesses a strong technical background and brings more than 10 years of experience in large-scale systems design and development. Prior to joining Alacriti, he worked for OAT Systems, Fujitsu and Aapam technologies architecting, managing and implementing enterprise software products.
Shambaiah holds a masters degree from the University of Cincinnati and an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chennai, India.
